Top row: This example is of early construction, probably pre-war, by C.E.Juncker, Berlin.
It is constructed of a quality darkened silver plated wreath and a fire-gilt eagle. Badges as early as this one are extremely
rare.
Bottom: A mint example of a wartime badge from Juncker.
Later examples are constructed from zinc with the wreath blackened and the eagle finished
with a gold wash, this often deteriorate to a dull gold colour. The later badges wreath has the appearance of being dark grey,
almost black.
