Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross
(Steinhauer & Lück )

Here are 2 examples of the Knights Cross as manufactured by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid. S&L was the first firm appointed to produce the knight's cross (Ritterkreuz) and was involved in manufacture right through the war.

Ritterkreuz from this company are typically marked '800' only below the ring, on the reverse. There are late-war examples marked '935' '4' and also known examples marked '800' '4'.

Any non-magnetic cored RK's or non-silver framed examples from this maker should be viewed with suspicion as these are most likely post-war.

The below cross was awarded to:
Feldwebel d. R.
