Instituted in January 1941 as the anti-aircraft
award or Flak badge. This badge was awarded to flak crews, searchlight crews and sound detector teams, on a points basis.
When the team had reached the required total points the badge was awarded. The exception being where the individual was wounded
as a result of direct action against the enemy. Known makers are:
