I think this one is early war construction, made from tombac and silver plated. As per
design stipulation, the wreath is silvered then frosted with highlights polished and the eagle blued. There is the marker
mark of 'A' for Assmann which is stamped into the back of the eagle.
This is a text book example of an early war-time Assmann observer badge. Also a typical Assmann
trait are the conical shaped rivets.
